“Hidden Talents – Parish Artists”May 1, 10:00 am-May 31, 5:00 pm
“Hidden Talents – Parish Artists,” an exhibit of art works showcasing the talents of 12 members of St. George’s Episcopal Church, will be the May 1-31 exhibit in St. George’s Art Gallery at 2425 S. Germantown Road, Germantown. Joy Routt, who curated the exhibit says, “When we began to recruit for the exhibit, we had no idea just how many artists might be sitting in our pews, worshiping alongside us on Sundays; but as the word spread, people came forth to share their talents with us, some were professional artists, some hobbyists, all with remarkable talent that we will be showcasing in the Art Gallery.” The show will include photography, paintings in oil, acrylics and watercolors, mixed mediums and textiles.
The Wagon, photograph by Caroline Brown “A Sunday drive with a camera along can produce a wonderful surprise. The wagon is located in Mississippi, displayed in a front yard located on a less traveled road. Perhaps it carried cotton many years ago and just broke down on the way to market.”
