The 1st Annual “Cooper Young Garden Walk” will take place Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 10am-4pm. Early bird tickets are $10 and enters you a chance to win a $200 basket of goodies. Order tickets at cooperyoung.org. Day of walk tickets are $15 and will be sold at the Gazebo at Cooper/Young.
Cooper Young Garden Walk is a self-guided tour of 20 private, urban, offbeat gardens and 5 business green spaces located in the Cooper Young neighborhood. Garden styles run the gamut from organic vegetable gardens and free range chickens to cottage, formal, whimsical, and serene. You can visit the gardens in any order. The Brochure/Map will be available at the Gazebo at Cooper/Young, the day of the walk.
Visitors are invited to start their day early + really explore neighborhood:
8 a.m. : Come early and have coffee or breakfast at Stone Soup Cafe
9 a.m. – 1 p.m. : Visit both Farmers’ Markets (1st Congo + Tsunami parking lot)
10 a.m. : Keynote speaker, “Carol Reese” at Jay Etkin Art Gallery
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. : Ongoing, visit “Ask the Master Gardener” + “Urban Forestry” booths at the Gazebo
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. : visit “Me and Mrs. Jones” lawn demos on paint finishes
10 a.m. – lunch : Tour gardens on one side of Cooper, have lunch at one of many fine eating establishments,
lunch – 4 p.m. : visit gardens other side of Cooper 4pm on shop, drink, and eat
The ”Garden Walk” is put on by the Cooper Young Garden Club to fund future beautification projects in the Neighborhood.
