THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION for actors, dancers, musicians, and visual or performance artists who wish to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end the walls, the bans, the tweets, and other forms of oppression that are being imposed by the people in power.
Our Own Voice Theatre Troupe will open its 27th season with an original production: “What a Piece of Work: Forms and Movements for the Resistance,” directed by OOV’s Founding Director, Bill Baker.
Inspired by the timeless tale of a certain Danish prince who tragically failed to take action before it was too late, the production considers the responsibility each of us has to meet the challenges presented by the dangerously uncertain times in which we live. This production is about resisting anything that lulls us into complacency.
“What a Piece of Work” will run at TheatreWorks in Overton Square on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 PM from September 29 to October 7.
Auditions/workshops for this production will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 12 and 13th at 3 PM at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church located at 5530 Shady Grove Rd. at Yates. Please come prepared to move and to participate in theatre exercises and improvisational games. All levels of experience are welcome. If you have questions please feel free to contact us.
