Annual Spaceface Halloween w/ Sister SupplyOctober 28, 7:00 pm-11:00 pm
As you know the local Memphis group Spaceface puts on a big annual Halloween event in Memphis and this year we are trying to make it the biggest it has been yet. We are joining forces with Sister Supply in addition to the help of the HiTone, this year is set to be a grand event.
We are making our Spaceface Halloween at the HiTone focus more on highlighting local Memphis artists and musicians. There will be all kinds of art, costumes, prizes, a bouncy house, and of course Spaceface bringing all the psychedelic fun! We will have performances from: Louise Page, Harlan, China Gate, and of course, Spaceface. All of these are Memphis acts that we feel need to be heard. In addition, we have Portland’s Love Bomb Go Go, an eclectic group made up of dancers, percussionists, horns, woodwinds, and synthesizers. Love Bomb will have no problem adding to the party and will even be guest performing with Spaceface on some songs later that night. We will have local illusionist The Amazing Bently Burns back with us this year, who will be performing feats of magic and tricks all night long.
We are also going to have an area with local art and food vendors. The art vendor tables will be in the Big Room or outside (weather permitting), and the food vendors will be outside with a bounce house. I have been working with Anna Craig and Allison Kasper who helped put together GRRLFEST earlier this year. We will have artist vendors with booths and tables such as Jess Kirk, Anna Craig, Cry Baby Club, Pretty Useful, Gum Soul Printing, and Claire Faulhaber of Underground Art.
Finally, there will be a costume contest with prizes donated from local businesses and restaurants (we’re currently working with Wiseacre Brewery and Memphis Made Brewery, but neither are confirmed yet). To enter the costume contest you must bring a donation for Sister Supply of menstruation productions to the door (think like a “blood” theme for Halloween). One of the founders of Sister Supply will be there to talk more about how people can be involved and how they can help.
