Google is looking for a few communities around the U.S. to be the inaugural cities for its newest product, Google Fiber.
Google wants to bring super-fast fiberoptic internet connections to homes and businesses in a few select cities. The service would be about 300 times faster than the internet you currently have.

The shop is R. Sole, and they carry hard-to-find, high-end and designer sneakers, clothing, sunglasses and watches. The space has the vibe of a fine art museum for footwear. A shoeseum, if you will. Colorful shoes pop against the dark walls and limited edition kicks given holy glows in light boxes around the store.
I was invited to ARTjamN in Cooper Young a few nights ago to do a painting session. None of the guided paintings suited me, so I put on my headphones, squeezed some acrylic onto a paper plate and made this little…well, I can’t quite call it a masterpiece. I like it, though.

Here’s a warning to the adults taking their children to the “Harry’s Big Adventure: My Bug Life” exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Memphis: there is a solid chance that at some point during your trip around the exhibit hall, you may be a little grossed out.
But, we all know that the more disgusted adults [...]
Tomorrow, two proposed ordinances designed to curb disorderly panhandling downtown will be introduced to the city council. The ordinances would ban the sale of single beers (think 40oz beers at gas stations) within the core of downtown and restrict panhandling to designated areas.
The hope is that by banning single beer sales and limiting panhandling areas, [...]
I snapped today’s Project 365 photo while sitting on a ledge near the Cook Convention Center while listening to a nice guy from Milwaukee play the guitar. The guy’s name is Matthew Davies, and he’s a touring musician who’s in town for the Folk Alliance International conference. He’s a very nice guy and he’s driven [...]
