Not knowing anyone who lives in Memphis and having never been myself (only come as close as Nashville), my preliminary research has been mostly online. As you can imagine, there are a lot of haters out there, and I was beginning to scratch the school off my list because of all the negative reviews. Then your website popped up and it's brought a very needed and refreshing counter viewpoint. I love the optimism. You paint the city is such a beautiful light. I'm a girl who loves music, food, film and art. Perhaps Memphis will be the place for me in 2011? Thanks again and keep up the great work! It was a big culture shock and unlike anywhere I had lived before. My only experience with any of the southern states prior to the move was occasional vacations to Florida. Yet I've found some real gems here, and your website has definitely helped. There is a lot to do and still a lot more to explore. You really bring a positive light on this not always positive town.
