Say farewell to May with these fun weekend events! Here are the five things you won’t want to miss, plus a few extras. Also… you’re invited to the I Love Memphis Meetup at 901 Fest, where we are giving out a bunch of free alcohol and snacks. I have more details below.

1. Memphis Zombie Walk, Beale Street/Handy Park, Friday, painting 3:30 p.m./walk 7 p.m., canned goods/donation
Trudge with the undead down Beale Street on Friday night – and it’s all for a good cause, as all zombies and victims should bring $5 worth of canned goods or donation – especially if you’re getting to Handy Park early to get painted.

2. South Main Trolley Night, South Main Arts District, Friday, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., free, all ages/kid-friendly
The trolleys are back! It’s the first Trolley Night with actual trolleys in four years, so get downtown for an evening of gallery openings and business open houses, free refreshments, music, and more. Primas Bakery will have a pop-up in anticipation of their summer opening, too!

3. 901 Fest, Tom Lee Park, Saturday, 3 p.m. – 10 p.m., $9, all ages/kid-friendly
Celebrate all things Memphis (and close out Memphis In May for 2018) at this event dedicated to local food, music, and fun. There are four stage of live music – lineup here – a bunch of food trucks – lineup here – and activities like knockerball. Plus, an airshow and fireworks.

But wait, there’s more…

Yes, I’m serious, we are giving out a bunch of free alcohol from our friends at Memphis Made and Old Dominick, plus snacks from Primas, Milk Dessert Bar, and Nikki’s Hot Chips.

4. Summer Symphony with Wynonna, Memphis Botanic Garden, Saturday, gates 5:30 p.m./show 7:30 p.m., $30 adults/$10 kids, all ages/kid-friendly

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.

      Hi Dawn,
On Monday, there’s a Redbirds game, live music at Lafayette’s, Hi-Tone, and Shelby Forest General Store, and something called a “Summer Slay Day” party at The Bluff.
