365 Things to Do in Memphis #71: Sign the Wall at Huey’s

You can complete assignment #71 in the 365 Things to Do in Memphis while you eat a burger, kill a bowl of potato soup, or loaded cheese fries. But don’t forget your Sharpie – you’re signing the wall at Huey’s.

Huey's, Memphis, Tenn.

Each one of the many Huey’s locations has a wall that’s been attacked by local markers. They get painted over occasionally to make way for new drawings, signatures and testaments of semi-permanent love.

Huey’s serves up a classic, crowd-pleasing menu and nothing is more famous than their Huey Burger. While the Huey Burger includes all the trimmings and Cheddar or Swiss, I encourage you to branch out and try a few of their other specialty burgers like the West Coast Burger with Monterey Jack and guacamole.

Another great thing about Huey’s: most of their locations are open late, until 11 p.m. or midnight and even later on the weekends.

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
