Memphis Snowhaus Pop-Ups This Week. Also, What Is Snowcream?
Memphis Snowhaus Pop-Ups This Week. Also, What Is Snowcream?
Snowhaus claims they're the first snowcream in Memphis, and they have four upcoming pop-ups so you can try them out.
Since I'm not 100 percent sure what snow cream is, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on being the first.
Here's the pop-up schedule, including today's (Wednesday's) event in East Memphis:
February 21 - Lunar New Year, University of Memphis
•
February 23 - Trolley Night at 409
•
March 2 - Hip Hopcracy Event, Downtown Memphis
•
March 7 - Miss Cordelia's Table, Harbor Town, Memphis
Snowhaus in Memphis has hosted several pop-up events - including some at Robata in Overton - and served their "fluffy ribbons of ice" at a couple of events. For $7, you can get a scoop in your choice of flavor, toppings, and syrup.
According to my research, snow cream is lighter than ice cream, doesn't have syrup like a snow cone, and usually comes in interesting flavors. Snowhaus offers flavors like Thai Tea, Green Tea, Vietnamese coffee, and Snow Milk.
This video sheds some light on what it might be like.
Obviously, I'll report back when I get a chance to sample some myself. In the meantime, you can follow them on Facebook and Instagram to find out future pop-up dates.
Have you had snowcream from Snowhaus yet? What did you think?
