We Need You! Free "From Memphis To Mersey" Show Tickets

Update: All the spots have been taken, but I am keeping a short waiting list in case more seats become available.

Attention music nerds lovers! I'm looking for 15 blog readers to represent Memphis at a very special concert happening next Sunday, August 6th.

The "From Memphis To Mersey" event includes performances by four emerging artists + a conversation with their mentors: William Bell and Susan Marshall of Memphis + Garry Christian and Joey Ankrah of Liverpool.

The show is at 7:30 p.m. next Sunday at Ardent Studios in midtown, and tickets are free for the first 15 I Love Memphis readers to sign up via this Google form.

Keep reading to find out more. But before you sign up, here are the rules.

- The first 15 people to sign up will receive a pair of tickets. There will be a short waiting list kept after that.

- You must be certain that you and your +1 will definitely attend next Sunday's event before you sign up. We need y'all there.

- You'll be receiving informational emails from me once you sign up, so look out for that.

About From Memphis To Mersey

This music exchange program is a a project from Music Export Memphis. Read more about that awesome organization here.

Here are the four emerging songwriters who you'll get to see perform on the event on the 6th:

- Lanita Smith (Memphis)
- Chris Milam (Memphis)
- Reid Anderson (Liverpool)
- Christopher Kearney (Liverpool)

The four selected songwriters will spend three days working in Memphis (August 4-6) and Liverpool (August 26-28), with each city experience culminating in an event featuring performance of new songs and a curated conversation about the exchange itself and the connections between these two international music cities.

They will be coached by and collaborate with mentors: GRAMMY-award winner and Stax legend William Bell, Memphis singer, songwriter and producer Susan Marshall, the face and the voice of UK and international chart topping Liverpool band The Christians Garry Christian and Christians band member, multi- instrumentalist, writer and producer Joey Ankrah.
