Goodbye Danvers, Hello Cook-Out?
Goodbye Danvers, Hello Cook-Out?
The Memphis Business Journal announced last week that regional fast food chain Cook-Out bought three of the five Memphis-area Danver's.
Danvers: Known for their salad bar, burgers (and burger toppings+pickle bar), roast beef sandwiches, breakfast. A Memphis classic to many.
Cook-Out: Known for causing traffic jams and fender benders on Highland. A place where you can get chicken nuggets or quesadillas as sides and many million milkshake flavors. New to Memphis.
Y'all had some opinions on the matter, and they were pretty mixed.
Here are some of them from Twitter. Let me know what you think in the comments.

In this corner, we have the pro-Danver's people.
Danver's, who never sold out to anyone for decades despite repeated attempts, decided that Cook Out holds the ring? This is terrible.

Sucks to lose the only country ham biscuit in midtown.

@MBJCorbet @MBJSteimer Danvers' burgers are FAR SUPERIOR to Cook Out's. This sucks for the #901

Ive been going to that Danver's since I was a kid & even had it for lunch before hearing the news. Cookout is bland and I don't get appeal.

This. I can express my disappointment. Danver's is my old man jam. https://t.co/WmysIJqEC2

And then...in a completely different corner/plane of existence, we have the (parodY) Evangelist Danver's account.
When there was only one set of footprints that was when god carried you back to the endless salad bar. #evangelistDanvers

Prayers for the employees of the three restaurants being sold.
We will welcome their bible study groups at our remaining locations.
