Win Tickets To The Day Of The Dead Fiesta!
There are plenty of parties this weekend, but if you want to celebrate something a little different, I have just the thing for you: Latino Memphis’ Day Of The Dead Fiesta on Friday night at the Cadre Building.
I’m giving away two tickets to the event ($100+ value). If you want to win a pair of tickets, just leave a comment on this blog post telling me you want to go – it’s that easy! I’ll do a random drawing on Thursday, October 27 at 10 a.m.
Giveaway ended: congrats Tara! If you didn’t win, you can still buy tickets online until noon today (Thursday) or buy them at the door while supplies last.
If you don’t want wait, you can buy tickets here.
Not to be confused with Halloween, the Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrating and remembering loved ones who have passed away. You’ve probably seen the sugar skull makeup and decorations, and now you are invited by Latino Memphis to join in the celebration. Buy tickets here.
For this party, Latino Memphis will have:
- tons of entertainment from the likes of Ballet Memphis, Co-Motion Studio, Catrinas, Aztec dancers, Colombian music, and much more
- sugar skull face painting
- photo booth
- drink (for purchase – a $20 bar ticket gets you 4 drinks or there’s a cash bar)
- expect dancing!
- super swanky atmosphere
The attire: skip the costumes, and wear black and white (either one or a combination) then have your face painted when you arrive.
The party begins at 7 p.m., ends at 11:30 p.m., and is for folks 21 and up. Take an Uber/Lyft/cab or park in a garage near the Cadre. Tickets are $50 per person online in advance (online sales close at noon on Thursday, October 27) or you can buy tickets at the door for $65.
Seriously, though – this isn’t another Halloween party, so it’ll be a faux pas if you show up wearing a Halloween costume.
