Happy Friday, Memphis! Here are the five things you won’t want to miss this weekend, plus a few extras. Also, look ahead to summer with a handy guide to summertime Memphis events here.

1. Kristine Levine Presented by Blacksmith Comedy, Midtown Crossing Grill, Friday, 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., $5, 21+
Comedian Kristine Levine (as seen on IFC’s Portlandia) performs in Crosstown this Friday night. Her “refreshing candor and unflinching, twisted perspectives on life, love and dysfunction have earned her a reputation as a biting, brutal cross between Lenny Bruce and Roseanne Barr.” Don’t miss this one.

2. Duncan Williams/St. Jude Dragon Boat Races, Mud Island River Park, Saturday 8:30 a.m. – free to watch, all ages/kid-friendly
Even if you’re not on a team, watching amateur teams paddle a 43-foot Chinese-style dragon boat in the Mississippi River will be fun to watch. Cheer on the teams, then enjoy food and a family-friendly kids’ area at the Park.

3. Cooper Young Garden Walk, Cooper Young Neighborhood, Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., $10 advance/$15 day of event, all ages/kid-friendly
Tour more than 20 home gardens in this eclectic neighborhood in the first-ever CY Garden Walk on Saturday. Tour the homes (and a few businesses) at your own pace, join the guided bike tour that leaves from the First Congo Parking lot at 11:15 a.m., and grab lunch at one of the CY businesses offering specials. See many more details here.

4. Palestine Festival, Overton Park Greensward, Saturday, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., free entry, all ages/kid-friendly
Head to Overton Park for the first-ever Palestine Festival, featuring free food samples from local Middle Eastern restaurants (while they last) plus more food for sale, vendors, music, dancing, and cultural activities.

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
