It’s February! I’ve teamed up with Volunteer Odyssey again to bring you unique ways to give back and love our city again this month.

1. Be a refugee ambassador with World Relief Memphis: Monday, February 8th, 6:30-8:30.
World Relief helps refugees from around the world settle in to their new home is the US. Volunteer to share your knowledge and assist refugees with new experiences such as grocery shopping and navigating the transit system.

2. VolunCheers with Volunteer Odyssey at the Humane Society: Tuesday, February 9th at 6 p.m.
Join us for VolunCheers – our volunteer happy hour is an easy way to volunteer for busy professionals. Drinks and food provided. Ages 21+. Spots fill up quickly!

3. Give the Gift of Grizz Hearts: Tuesday, February 9th, 3:00 pm

You’ve seen the Grizz Hearts all over town (and in the photo at the top of this post). Now you can distribute hearts for Valentine’s Day. Help the kids at the Carpenter Art Garden in Binghampton as they bring a little love to their neighborhood.

4. Deliver Meals on Wheels: Weekdays in February

Here’s a great way to make a big impact in a short amount of time. In about an hour, you can deliver a hot meal to a home-bound senior in our community. You’ll make their day!

5. Room in the Inn: Every night and every morning in February!

How we love Room in the Inn. Let us count the ways. If you have a crazy schedule, this is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. Room in the Inn houses homeless guests at congregations all across Memphis during the winter months. There are volunteer opportunities every single evening and every single morning in all parts of the city. Want an easy way to get started? Help with registration from 4:30-6:30 pm any night this month.

6. Harrah’s Hope Lodge Driver: Weekdays in February, Multiple Shifts

The American Cancer Society needs your help transporting cancer patients from Harrah’s Hope Lodge to their cancer treatments. If you’re savvy on 4 wheels and have a great driving record, they need your help.

7. Mix-Odyssey Volunteer: Saturday, February 27th at 7pm

This high energy-mixology contest benefits Volunteer Odyssey. Mixologists, Fortune Tellers, and craft beer all make for an awesome event and a great volunteer experience. Volunteers 21+ especially those with ABC Cards needed. Great volunteer perks!

8. Volunteer Orientation at the Humane Society: Monday February 29th, 6-7pm

If you can’t get enough of those furry four-legged Memphians, this is the perfect volunteer opportunity. Come to this short one-hour session and learn about all the ways you can volunteer at the Humane Society.

9. Deliver Burritos by Bike: Wednesdays in February 7:30-9:30pm

Connect with the homeless and hungry of Memphis while biking through downtown. You can provide a hot burrito and a blanket to those who go hungry each night. You’ll go with a group that knows the route well.  It’s a one-of-a-kind experience.

10. Prayer and Dessert: Sundays in February at 6pm.

Join the Dorothy Day House for dessert and learn their amazing outreach to homeless families. This is a great way to learn about how you can help homeless families and children in Memphis..
