Next This weekend, go to the 5th annual DreamFest, a series of music and spoken word performances by local artists of all kinds of genres.

What started as one night of local music to mark Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend has grown into a three-day event with lots of artists and more than 500 attendees.

It’s your opportunity to check out a ton of Memphis musicians you may not have heard about yet, for a really affordable cover charge.

This year, DreamFest includes a family-friendly dance performance on Sunday afternoon.

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
