Merry Grizzmas! 8 Ways To Celebrate The 2015 - 2016 Grizzlies Season

Merry Grizzmas! 8 Ways To Celebrate The 2015 - 2016 Grizzlies Season

Oh happy day! The Memphis Grizzlies NBA season begins today. Here's a guide that I hope will be handy all season long.

1. Get Thee To The Grindhouse
The obvious one: go to games. FedExForum aka "The Grindhouse" is the home of the Grizzlies and attending a home game should be on every Memphis bucket list. Between the Grizz Girls, crazy halftime entertainment, Rick Trotter, Super Grizz, the food at FedExForum…

Tickets start at $15 for nosebleeds and go up from there. Click here for tickets.

If you want a flashback, check out this post from 2010 that offers reasons to go to games. My, my how far we've come.

2. Don We Now Our Grizz Apparel
There's official Grizz gear (online or at the Grizzlies Den) and then there's the seemingly endless stream of bootleg t-shirts. A few places to look:

- Sache
- Fan Essentials
- Memphis Threat
- Memphicity Design
- Grind City

Let me know if I left off any of your favorites.

3. Nosh On A Grizz treat
To celebrate opening day, Muddy's Bake Shop and Gibson's Donuts are both offering Grizzlies themed treats. You probably won't see these , but I'd recommend either of those places or any of these for pre-game treats all season long.

4. Go Out And Watch
If you don't have tickets or it's an away game, there are plenty of places in town to get out and watch the games with your fellow fans. Below you'll find a quick list.

- Downtown: Station 3: Memphis Firehaus, Max’s Sports Bar, Flying Saucer, Kooky Canuck, South of Beale

- Midtown: Rec Room, Red Zone, Sweet Grass Next Door, Local on the Square, Bayou Bar and Grill, Alex's Tavern

- East Memphis & Beyond: Hog and Hominy, Flying Saucer Cordova, Brookhaven Circle

Here is a schedule of the Grizzlies' official watch parties:

  • Saturday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. - Grizzlies vs. Spurs at the Rec Room (3000 Broad Ave)
  • Friday, Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m. - Grizzlies vs. Mavericks at Local Midtown (2126 Madison Ave)

  • Friday, Apr. 8 at 7:30 p.m. - Grizzlies vs. Mavericks at Lafayette's (2119 Madison Ave)

Let me know if I left off any of your favorites.

5. Follow A Fan Blog

6. Score Some Swag

If you're trying to decide which games to buy tickets for, you might want to pick one with a great giveaway. I'm guessing the most coveted giveaways will be on December 3 (Tacky Holiday Tees), December 11 (Tony Allen Jedi Robe) and January 16, February 6, March 4, and April 5 ("Mount Grizzmore" pieces).

For a full list of giveaways, go here.

7. Take a pic on the #GrizzSteps

As part of the Grizzlies' RiverFit fitness trail at Tom Lee Park, two Riverside drive staircases have been painted with "Grit" and "Grind".

If you take a picture of the steps and post online using hashtag #GrizzSteps, your picture might appear on NBA.com. Here are a few of my favorites so far:

8. Find A Grizzlies Mural

Along the same lines as the #GrizzSteps, Memphis is sprinkled with Grizz-themed murals. Here's a list.

- Believe Memphis (Union and Nov. 6th St.)

- Grind Til You Shine (769 Vance Ave, Memphis, TN 38126)

- Marc Gasol Airways Flea Market (Airways and Supreme)

- Marc Gasol Matador (Southern and Highland

- Make It Reign (Walker and Highland)

Am I missing any? Let me know in the comments!
