Bardog Anniversary Party and Breakaway 5K: Win Entry Tickets!

Bardog Anniversary Party and Breakaway 5K: Win Entry Tickets!

The annual Bardog Anniversary Alley Party is back this Sunday. It's time to celebrate seven years of sliders, daily dogs, cold brews and brunch specials at Bardog on Monroe downtown. It's also the 6th anniversary of the Breakaway Bardog 5K, one of Memphis' most popular races, and I'm giving away two entry tickets to the race. Read on to find out how to enter.

Every year since 2008, Bardog Tavern has hosted an anniversary blowout, with all proceeds benefitting St. Jude. They've raised more than $70,000 so far.

New this year: cash prizes for race winners, a bigger and better alley party, more raffle items (including a kayak, bicycles, and tons of gift cards), plus family-friendly fun in the Alley Party (think carnival games, face painting, a dunk tank, cotton candy, etc.)

The 5K starts at 9 a.m. at Bardog. For a $30 advance registration fee (buy here) runners get race entry, shirt, and a bag o' swag. You can also register on the day of the race from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. at Bardog for $35.

If you want a chance for you and a friend to enter the race for free ($60 value) all you need to do is leave me a comment on this post telling me why you think the Breakway Bardog 5K is the Best 5K in town.

I'll do a random drawing tomorrow (Thursday) at 9:30 a.m., so be sure to check your email then!

Although it can get a little tight, the afterparty makes this one of the best races in Memphis.

So my friend and I don't run as much as we drink at Bardog, but we're determined to enter Sunday! To stretch our legs downtown with fellow enthusiastic Memphians, all heading to a favorite haunt would absolutely make for the best 5k in town. Also, it's Bardog. And there will be beer. So honestly, no contest.
