Happy Friday, Memphis! Here are the 5 things you won't want to miss in Memphis this weekend.

If you're looking for Super Bowl ideas, click here to see my Super Bowl Guide. If you haven't made plans/reservations for Valentine's Day yet, get on it! Click here to read my Guide to Valentine's Day in Memphis

At a past spillit event.

1. South Main "Trolley-ish" Tour, South Main Arts District, Friday, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., free to attend, all ages/kid-friendly
Head to South Main on Friday night for the first "Trolley-ish" Tour of the year. As usual, businesses and galleries will be open with refreshments and live music is planned for several locations. Memphis Pets Alive animal rescue will be in the ghost lot next to Ernestine & Hazel's. You can follow Trolley Night on Facebook for updates and events.

2. Public Ice Skating, Mid-South Ice House (10705 Ridgeway Industrial Dr., Olive Branch), Fridays – Sundays, $9 per skater/$3 skate rental, all ages/kid-friendly
Finally, something for the kids. There's a Friday night skate with a DJ and dancing for the older kids (7 p.m. – 9 p.m.), Saturday afternoon fun and games (1:30 p.m.- 4 p.m.), and a younger-kid-friendly Sunday afternoon skate (1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.) This is an ongoing series of events, but I wanted to give some ideas for the kids this weekend, and this seemed like the perfect winter activity.

3. Spillit Story Slam, Amurica Photo Booth, Friday, 8 p.m. – 1 p.m., $10 at the door, 18+
If you haven't yet been to a Spillit event, what are you waiting for? Go, drop your name in the bucket, have a drink, and get a chance to stand up and tell your story. The theme for this weekend's event is "Mothers"…and yes, it's a competition, but it's also an opportunity to share five minutes of YOU with a room full of kind folks who appreciate stories.

4. "What Lies Beneath", Elmwood Cemetery, Saturday, $15, 1 p.m., 13  and up

Elmwood from Edward Valibus on Vimeo.

Head to the cottage at Elmwood Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Saturday for "What Lies Beneath" with Elmwood's Director and Assistant Director about the secrets of the circa-1866 cottage, the Frozen Charlottes (which I assure you has nothing to do with the hit Disney musical) as well as more historical info about who is buried in Elmwood. Make sure you register today.

5. Mystic Krewe of Pegasus Mardi Gras Ball XII, Minglewood Hall, Saturday, 7 p.m., $50, 21 and up
Start on your Mardi Gras celebration and support an important cause at the Mystic Krewe of Pegasus 12th annual Mardi Gras Ball. Wear black-tie attire, or better yet, dress up for their over-the-top costume contest (the theme is "Walking In Memphis"). The ball features food, drink, incredible decor, performances, and the crowning of the King and Queen. Proceeds from the Krewe of Pegasuss Mardi Gras Ball go towards Friends for Life. Last year they raised more than 20 thousand dollars!

Yes, I know the Super Bowl is Sunday! I wrote a whole post about it that you can read right here.

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.

Another kid/family event is the Memphis Symphony "Tunes and Tales" this weekend at various libraries. It's really fun for families with younger kids. http://memphissymphony.org/familytunestales
