Have you always wondered what's going on at the old U.S. Marine Hospital by the Metal Museum? You have your chance to take a tour and party on the grounds this weekend.
There will be guided tours every half hour from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. (limited to 100 people), scary movies after sundown, and a bonfire.
Bring your chairs, blankets, guitars for jamming, and well-behaved pets, but leave your coolers and picnics at home. You get three drink tickets with your ticket and food will be served (Slider Inn sliders and much more) before 9 p.m.

For Couples: Once at The Orpheum
What is "Once"? Is it a musical? A concert? The answer: both. Once is a Tony-award-winning musical coming to the Orpheum next week. Sure, it's a love story, but really it's about the music. The actors are all musicians playing musicians.
I have heard from several people that it is much better than the movie, that if you like Mumford & Sons/Ray LaMontagne/The Civil Wars, then you will like this show. Also, the music and choreography is less like the traditional musical theatre you may be used to for Broadway shows, so that's something new worth seeing.
P.S. Though I'm listing this as a date night, The Orpheum recommends this for older kids and teens. It's rated "PG-13" for a few adult words and mild innuendo.
What: Once at The Orpheum
When: October 28 - November 2, 2014 (times vary)
Where: The Orpheum Theatre
Who: adults and teens 13+ (no children under
How much: $25 - $95 (buy tickets here)
