Third Time’s A Charm: Best Memphis Burger Fest 2014
Prepare your palettes, because the Best Memphis Burger Fest is back for round three. On Sunday, September 21, 34 teams will grind out a lineup of creative burgers to compete for the title of Best Memphis Burger.
The Minglewood Hall parking lot is going to smell delicious on Sunday, with more than two dozen grills sizzling with meat and cheese and who knows what else.
Some teams will have some samples for attendees that you can taste as you walk around, but bring a few bucks to tip. Even if you’re not red meat enthusiast, be on the lookout for Best Veggie Burger and Anything-But-Cow-Beef Burger samples. There will be food trucks, too.
Best Memphis Burger Fest is family-friendly (although some of the team names are, um, colorful – just be prepared) and just $7 to enter. There will be live music all day, a cornhole tournament, and pet adoptions.
Seth Agranov, author of the Best Memphis Burger blog and his business partner, Tim James, are the masterminds behind this event, which is in its third year. The Fest is a fundraiser for Streetdog Foundation, Tunica Humane Society, and Fayette County Animal Rescue
There will also be:
– Best Bloody Mary contest
– a pickle eating contest for kids at 3 p.m.
– a Slider-Inn sponsored slider eating contest at 3:15 p.m.
