Grow Memphis Orange Mound Community Garden; A Morning In Photos
Last week I visited Grow Memphis' flagship garden, the Orange Mound Community Garden at the corner of Douglass and Hamilton. Here's my morning, in photos.
Grow Memphis is a local nonprofit started in 2001 by Mid-South Peace and Justice Center Board Member Alcine Arnett, who wanted to turn a vacant lot in her Orange Mound neighborhood into a place where younger and older generations could interact, locals could grow plants and food, and an empty, blighted lot could turn into something beautiful for the neighborhood to enjoy.
