Answer Kevin’s ILM Podcast Trivia Question, Win A Delicious, Beautiful Prize (Contest Complete)

Posted by Holly Whitfield | April 30th 2014 183 9

I have something to give away today that I really, really want to keep for myself. But I won’t, because I love y’all.

Edit (May 1 at 4:20 p.m.) – Contest is over! See below for the answer to the trivia question and who won.

If you don’t know, my awesome podcast co-host Kevin Cerrito is a trivia master.* He has a trivia question for you based on our April podcast interview with chefs Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman. If you get the answer right, you could win an awesome prize: an autographed copy of their fancy, hardback, beautifully photographed, 245-page “Collards & Carbonara” cookbook.

The question is: “On the April 2014 I Love Memphis Podcast, what do Andy and Michael say is their “playground”?

***The answer was: “The Holding Pen” – congrats to commenter Holly Weber who won by random drawing***

In case you missed it, Andy and Michael are two Memphis-loving chefs who’ve won about a billion awards for their restaurants Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen and Hog & Hominy, and they also wrote a cookbook last year full of recipes for everything from saffron risotto made with chicken gizzards to funnel cakes. Then they signed a copy for you.

Here’s how you win:

1. Listen to the I Love Memphis Podcast from April (the interview portion begins at about 8:00).

2. Answer the trivia question (“On the April 2014 ILM Podcast, what do Any and Michael say is their playground?”) with a comment on this post.

3. Your comment will not appear here, but I will definitely see it. I’ll draw a winner randomly from all the correct answers tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon at 4 p.m. and announce it then.

Me, blog proprietress/awkward smiler, and Kevin, radio host/trivia master.

I have some other I Love Memphis Podcast news. Each month, I will upload an I Love Memphis Podcast BONUS clip (yay). It’s a short recording of my monthly segment on Kevin’s MemphiSportLive AM56/87.7FM Saturday show. This past month, we talked about a very annoying article on Memphis stereotypes. You can listen to that here.

Second, the I Love Memphis in May Podcast will be coming out later this week. We have a guest who I’m really excited about, who will talk all about Memphis in May and answer a lot of Frequently Asked Questions. So look for that in the next few days.

*Kevin hosts themed trivia nights on Wednesdays and Thursdays every week at Tamp & Tap and The Green Beetle, respectively – go here for details.

Happy Trivia Guessing! Remember you have until tomorrow (Thursday, May 1) at 4 p.m. to enter by commenting on this post.

Bonus picture of the “Funnel Cakes” page from Andy & Michael’s cookbook. You know you want to know how they make these.

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
