Introducing Project 50: Fifty Ways We Love Memphis
Introducing Project 50: Fifty Ways We Love Memphis
Each year since 2010, there's been a Project 365 on the I Love Memphis blog. In the past, you've seen 365 pictures of Memphis, Memphians, reasons to love Memphis, and things to do in Memphis.
I want to take this concept to the next level. Each week for the rest of the year, I plan to feature a Mid-South nonprofit, charitable organization, or other endeavor that aims for a more equitable, viable Memphis. There are 50 weeks left in 2014, hence the name Project 50.
Let's be real here, love is more than a hashtag. My hope with this project is that you decide to get involved with at least one organization whose mission resonates with you. And by the end of the year, we'll have 50 ideas for how we can put our love for the Bluff City to work.
Later today, I'm going to kick off Project 50 with a post about the Mid-South Peace and Justice Center, which was founded 32 years ago on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday.
