First things first: The Tigers beat No. 5 Oklahoma State last night. Then Josh Pastner said "hell" on the radio, and all was right with the world.
ILM Announcements: 1.) I made a few changes to the blog layout (that will not appear on the mobile version) so it would be easier to find more recent posts and social media. Got thoughts on the change? Leave 'em in the comments or email me. 2.) If you are dying to see heavily filtered images of my lunch and other Memphis-y things, you can follow the new I Love Memphis official instagram here.
You can still get tickets to the live recording of NPR's "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me" at the Orpheum on December 19 (they start at about $27).
If Memphis was friends with Dave Joerger on Facebook, we'd probably have an "it's complicated" relationship. Nonetheless, the Grizzlies' coach stopped to help a guy having car trouble on Thanksgiving. The guy turned out to be a huge Grizzlies fan. Aw.
Threepenny Theatre (of Midsummer Night's Dream fame) is hosting "Shakesbeer" on December 14 at Crosstown Arts. For a $10 donation (minimum) you can watch the troupe perform scenes from Macbeth, drink beer, and mingle with the actors. Threepenny wants to keep their performances pay-what-you-can, so this will help fund their 2014 season.
And here are your photos from the weekend:
