Attention Bookworms: Win Tickets to Mid-South Literacy's Art of Reading Party

Attention Bookworms: Win Tickets to Mid-South Literacy's Art of Reading Party

Literacy Mid-South is hosting their annual Art of Reading/Book Sale Preview combo party this Friday, and I have two pairs of tickets to give away.

Literacy Mid-South is an organization that works to increase literacy and learning in our community, and this weekend they're hosting two of their biggest fundraisers. For the Art of Reading party on Friday, local artists will show off their literature-inspired work and Literacy Mid-South will announce their 2014 Books of Choice.

If you go, you can stock up on food and drinks at the open bar and then be the first to peruse some 3,500 new books before the Annual Book Sale on Saturday. The book sale will be in the same place as the party, Germantown Community Theatre building, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Let me reiterate about Friday's event: open bar plus lots of books for sale that benefit a great organization. It's a win-win-win.

If you want tickets, just leave me a comment saying so. I'll pick 2 random winners (who will get 2 tickets each) later tonight. If you want to guarantee your ticket, they're $25 ahead of time and you can get them here. You must be 21 and up to attend Friday's event, but Saturday's book sale is open to everyone.

What: Art of Reading

Where: Germantown Community Theatre, 3037 Forest Hill Road

When: Friday, December 13 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

How much: $25 in advance, $35 at the door

That is awsoome.  It shows how important literacy is to the community.  Hopefully those  that need a little help will seek out some assistance. There is no shame in trying to help yourself.
