Here’s Where to Celebrate National Martini Day on Wednesday

National Martini Day is indeed a thing, and it's celebrated annually on June 19th (tomorrow). Whether you prefer yours made with gin or vodka, there are plenty of places to celebrate in Memphis.

National Martini Day

Here are a few of our favorites:

– Get dressed up and sip a dirty gin martini at the Peabody Lobby Bar while you people watch.

– If you need a martini with a view, get one from Twilight, the new rooftop bar at the Madison Hotel.

LeChardonnay's atmosphere may have changed a little when it moved to its new location, but it's still one of the only places in Memphis where you can sip a martini while sitting next to a fireplace.

Automatic Slim's has more than 20 kinds of martinis on their menu, in flavors like Creamsicle, mocha and pear.

The Majestic Grille's strawberry basil martini is one of my favorite Memphis summer drinks. It tastes best on the patio, IMO.

– Handcrafted cocktails are the Cove's thing, and bartender Evan is excellent with a shaker.

– Try the Memphis-themed Shelby-tini at East Tapas. It's made with Bison Grass vodka, St. Germain and a lemon twist.

Where are you celebrating?

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.

I will be celebrating at the Side Street Grill with a Dirty Girl Scout martini – probably the best martini bar in Memphis

Best Martini bar is Sidestreet on Florence in the square. The martini tastings are the real fun!

Firebirds has a great Pinapple Martini, "The Double Black Diamond". Pineapple is soaked in vodka for over 20 days and then squeezed out. Tastes just like sipping pineapple juice. Amazing! Even better, they are 1/2 off during happy hour :)

It's not so much where I'm celebrating, it's what I'm celebrating with! As the author of the first low calorie martini book, "SkinnyTinis" I've got a few to pick from! Here is my list of favs from the last year:

Rye Manhattan up tonight at Itta Bena with my dad. Nice way to end his vacation in Memphis. Now we have to find more gems in this town to introduce my parents to when they visit in November.
