Attention, artists (specifically those of you who are unsigned, underappreciated and underfunded): RAW Memphis wants to give you a chance to show off at Minglewood Hall.

RAW Memphis

RAW, which was founded in L.A. but now exists all over the country, is an arts event by artists, for artists. It's designed to be a night where emerging local artists (read: the young, hungry kind) of all disciplines get together to show off their work in one place. It's open to musicians, visual artists, performance artists, hair and makeup artists – really, if you're doing it, and you consider it art, RAW will probably be open to it.

RAW Memphis will be held on June 27th at Minglewood Hall and the organizers are still looking for more participants. If you'd like to participate, you can apply to showcase your work at rawartists.org/memphis until May 17th.

All ages are welcome and really, anything goes. The only thing that's definitely not allowed is cover bands.

Still confused? Check out this video from the RAW organizers:

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
