Tell Us How You Really Feel, Sticker

Reader Kerry Hayes spotted this sticker in the Sears Crosstown building last week.

I'm not sure if this was part of some kind of citywide branding campaign or what, but I kind of love it (even if it just likes it here).

Perhaps this sticker was way ahead of Facebook on making "liking" the thing to do.

That sticker is totally unenthusiastic about its feelings. Not even an exclamation point?

Kerry, this sticker dates from the '70s, and I believe was promoted by the Chamber of Commerce or a predecessor to the Convention and Visitors' Bureau. You might check with the Memphis and Shelby County Room at the Central Library, Vance Lauderdale, or one of the above agencies for further background. I remember the sticker was all the rage back in the day. The capital M references the new bridge spanning the Mississippi River (so it's post-1971).
