A.S. Barboro Celebrates Tax Day with Free Beer

Monday, April 15th is the last day to file your taxes (without a pesky extension). In Memphis, it's also a day of rejoicing, as a local beer distributor is giving away special edition Grizzlies cans of Coors Light.

I've done some checking around and this appears to be legit.

Quoth the press release I received this afternoon:

"To take Memphians’ minds off of having to pay income taxes, and instead focus our collective consciousness on the great news of the Memphis Grizzlies securing their third consecutive appearance in the NBA playoffs, MillerCoors Beer is giving away free beer on Tax Day at the FedEx Forum, home of the Grizzlies."

Well, alright, then.

A.S. Barbaro, the Memphis Miller/Coors distributor, is giving away 300 limited edition Grizzlies-themed Coors cans at the FedExForum on Monday, April 15th.

The offer is limited to one can per person, so don't come expecting the sort of party that usually happens when someone says "free beer!" I.D. checks will start at 10 a.m. and the event will begin at 11 a.m. You've got to be at least 21 years old to get a can, but you knew that already.

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.

I am a sportscan beer collector in New York who wrote about sportscans in the June 11,2012 "Fuzzy Brew" beer paper. I was looking for the 2012 Memphis Grizzlies can from Coors Light and was fortunate to get two from Mike (editor). Well, now its 2013 and I read about the Coors Distributor giving away  cans on tax day and the can is different from last years and needless to say, I would love to add this 2013 version to my collection. Any possibilities of obtaining one. You cn contact me on my e-mail or google me and my address should be listed. Much thanks, Stuart Gellis New Rochelle, NY

I found the can at the National Convention in Dallas this past August. How do I get on the mailing list for future cans. See Fuzzy Brew June 11, 2012 blog
