Happy Friday, y'all! It's finally, acutally supposed to be warm this weekend, so why not check out one of these five Memphis events:

1. Memphis Fashion Weekend, Alchemy / Cadre Building / MCA, Friday and Saturday, $50 per night / $150 VIP for the weekend

If you're looking for the stylish people, they'll be at Memphis Fashion Weekend on April 5th and 6th. The weekend of runway shows, parties and boutique events celebrates local and regional designers. The shows on Friday night are at the Cadre Building downtown, and the Saturday night shows are at Memphis College of Art.

2. Midtown Opera Festival, Playhouse on the Square, Friday and Saturday, priced per show

Opera Memphis is hosting the first ever Midtown Opera Festival at Playhouse on the Square from April 4 – 6th. The festival includes performances of "The Rape of Lucretia", one-act opera "Bon Appetit!" and "This is the Rill Speaking", an operatic coming of age story set in the 1950s South.

3. Rites to Play Carnival, Rhodes College, Saturday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., free

Bring your family to Rhodes on Saturday for their 16th annual Rites to Play spring carnival. Rhodes' student organizations will host carnival booths and games, and Grizz will be there. It's free, and the weather is supposed to be about 70 degrees and sunny.

4. Blue Tom Fest, University of Memphis Memorial Field, Saturday, 12 p.m., free

On Saturday, check out Blue Tom Fest, the first ever on-campus music festival at the U of M. It's open to everyone, and will feature only musical acts based in Memphis, including some big names (Star and Micey, Fast Planet) and student acts.

5. East Buntyn Art Walk, East Buntyn Neighborhood, Sunday, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m., free

On Sunday, take a stroll through East Buntyn (just west of U of M, between Southern and Central) for their annual art walk. Local artists will have their work for sale, listen to live music from local bands and get full on snacks from Fuel Truck and Rock'n'Dough.

If none of these events sound like the sort of thing you're into, check the ILM calendar for tons more. As always, no matter what you do, I hope you have a great time. Come back and tell me about it next week, ok?
