5 Things to Do in Memphis This Weekend: 4/26 - 4/28

Happy Friday! Here are five super fun things to do in Memphis this weekend:

1. On Location Film and Music Festival, Participating Malco Theatres, Friday - Sunday, various times, various prices per film

Settle in to one of the comfy chairs at one of the participating Malco theatres and watch feature films, documentaries and short films from around the world during the annual On Location Film Festival. Films will be shown all weekend at the Paradiso, Studio on the Square and Ridgeway Four. Check out the full festival fim schedule for more info.

2. LuvGlo 5K, Tennessee St., Friday, 8 p.m., $50 for one person - $180 for four people

Stick around South Main after Trolley Tour for LuvGlo, a nighttime, glow-in-the-dark 5K from the people who brought you LuvMud (aka, the run that finishes in a mud pit). There will be bands, food trucks, and plenty of fun for everyone, running or not.

3. Memphis Grizzlies vs. L.A. Clippers, FedExForum, Saturday, 3:30 p.m., various prices

After the Grizz's defeat of the Lob City Floppers on Thursday night, I can't wait to see what they're going to do to them on Saturday. The game is at home, so the idea situation would be to be at the Forum. If you can't, though, I recommend watching at Max's Sports Bar, Alex's Tavern, Young Ave. Deli, R.P. Tracks or Flying Saucer (either location). Also, don't forget to say your prayers.

4. Stax to the Max, Stax Museum of American Soul Music, Sunday, 1 p.m.., free, all ages

Party in Soulsville at the third annual Stax to the Max festival. The festival has live music (from Kirk Whalum, the Astors, the kids from Stax Academy and more), food, arts activities and super cheap $2 admission to the Stax Museum between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.

5. Southern Hot Wing Festival, Riverside Drive, Sunday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., $7.50 advance / $10 at the gate

Southern Hot Wing Festival 2013

The Southern Hot Wing Festival is back on Riverside drive for its 11th year. Cooking teams will serve up hot wings (and some will give out samples for a donation to Ronald McDonald House), there will be live music, and there's a (usually kind of hilarious) hot wing eating contest. The festival has been moved to Sunday due to predicted rain on Saturday.

If none of these events butter your biscuit, there are dozens more things to do this weekend on the blog's calendar. Have a great weekend, and come back and tell me about it on Monday.
