365 Things to Do in Memphis #243: Go to a Tiger Football Game
I know – they haven't been much to look at for the past few years, but there's no better time than now to complete assignment #243 in the 365 Things to Do in Memphis and go to a University of Memphis football game.
Here are a few reasons you should go to a U of M football game this season:
- They've got a new coach (Justin Fuente!) which means that they've got a fresh start. It'll be interesting to see what they do with it.
- The Liberty Bowl has a giant new HD screen, so not only can you see the games in giant crystal clarity from inside the stadium, you can also see them from Central Ave.
- Tailgating (especially tailgating in an area as nice as Tiger Lane) is fun.
- Coach Fuente! has had the players memorize the Memphis fight song so that they can sing it with the band after they win. Endearing, no?
The first game of the season is on Saturday at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium against Middle Tennessee State University at 6 p.m.

One slight correction; it's UT-Martin tomorrow night, not MTSU.
