365 Things to Do in Memphis #216: Find a Tiny Art Project

Memphis has a lot of big pieces of public art, but it's the little ones that fascinate me the most. Assignment #216 in the 365 Things to Do in Memphis is to find a tiny art project. Like one of these:

Man on a door, Memphis, Tenn.

Lego, Memphis, Tenn.

Love, Memphis, Tenn.

The beaver with a red balloon under the Ridgeway Loop. I was just studying that one yesterday!

I've seen pictures of that one, but I haven't seen it in person yet. Is it near the sushi gas station?

Is it a beaver? I thought it was a squirrel. There are actually two that I've seen so far. They are identical. One is on the car wash outbuilding on the recently-closed Mapco Express at the southeast corner of Poplar and White Station. The other is on the east side wall of the underpass that leads under west-bound Poplar. Turn left towards the Hilton or Ridgeway Four Cinema off of Poplar and you will pass it on yoru right side.

It's before the sushi gas station. The overpass across from the Target there. That's my favorite now too.

I've noticed the squirrels are getting marked thru by some cat named 42. Wonder why he would deface someone else's art?
