Every year, thousands of crawfish fans flock to downtown Memphis for the annual Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival, the largest mudbug fest in the city.

From 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, the Rajun Cajun crew will cook, season, and serve more than 17,000 pounds of crawfish. There will be live music on three stages, vendors, a gumbo cooking contest, 12 and under play zone for kids, and all sorts of crawfish-related games (bobbing for crawfish, crawfish eating, crawfish racing, crawfish eating contests).

The family friendly festival takes place Downtown Memphis on Riverside Drive (between Jefferson and Union.) Admission is free, but you can buy VIP tickets for all-you-can eat/drink Swamp tent. Proceeds from the 30th annual festival supports programs and services that Porter Leath provides for over 40,000 local children and families.

This looks like fun.  This has to be the only time I would advise sitting on a railroad track.  The crawfish looks good.   I wish I knew how to eat crawfish, but I get intimidated by the shells, but the food looks great. I might have to come by this one for the fun.  thanks
