Made in Memphis: Frantic Chocolates

Made in Memphis: Frantic Chocolates

I like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (especially when they're frozen), but I think I'm going to have to give them up. Not because I don't like them, mind you, but because I've found something way better.

Frantic Chocolates, Memphis, Tenn.

While I was poking around Trolley Stop Market this afternoon, I picked up a package of Frantic Chocolates, which are made locally. There was a big variety of barks, bars and truffles to choose from, but I wound up with a little four pack of chocolate orange slices and peanut butter cups.

Frantic Chocolates Peanut Butter Cup

You know how Reese's Cups have that distinctly grainy peanut butter filling? Not so with the Frantic cups. Their peanut butter filling is smooth and airy and rich, and the chocolate is deliciously melty. Basically, it's the best peanut butter cup I've ever had.

If you want to pick some up, you can find them at Trolley Stop Market or Miss Cordelia's in Memphis.

I gave up chocolate for Lent :(   But you've officially convinced me what my Easter basket should be filled with!

On behalf of my mother, thank you for the wonderful write up! I would have to say I agree with your assessment of the peanut butter cups, and it is really exciting to see this story. The bourbon truffles are probably my other favorite of hers. The peanut butter cup formula was originally from my Great-Great-Aunt Eloise (my grandfather's aunt) who taught me how to make them on a visit to her house in West Virginia. I came home and showed my mom that process, and the result with several years of holiday creativity and effort on my mother's part is Frantic Chocolates.

Frantic Chocolates are bites of heaven! By far the best of the best. Robust flavors married to rich chocolates are a delight for the senses. You will never look at other chocolates again, it is truly love at first bite. If you love great chocolates, do not look any further. Be sure to pre-order early for the holidays! Everyone wants Frantic Chocolates during the holidays so they may be hard to find.
