365 Things to Do in Memphis #36: Brunch at the Hi-Tone
Sure, you may have only stumbled out of a show at the Hi-Tone a few hours before brunch started, but there's no shame in going back for more.
Assignment #36 in the 365 Things to Do in Memphis is to have Sunday brunch at the Hi-Tone Cafe.
On Sunday mornings, light streams into the oddly quiet bar through the big front windows. Tables are pushed together around the floor and there's usually some kind of game playing on the TVs over the bar.
The brunch menu is loaded with good and greasy breakfasts, and there's usually a good special on the board by the bar. There are vegan and vegetarian options, too. I highly recommend the pork hash, which is a big dish of tender pulled pork, potatoes and onions served with scrambled eggs.
If you need a little hair-of-the-dog, the mimosas don't play. The Hi-Tone skips the typical wine glass and pours theirs in a pint.
