365 Memphians: Days 349 - 354

I've been out of town for a few days, so I've got some catching up to do. Meet Memphians no. 349 - 354 in the 365 Memphians project:

365 Memphians- Laura Phillips

349 / 365

Meet Laura Phillips (far right), aka Demi Automatic. She's a skater for Memphis Roller Derby's travel team, the Memphis Hustlin Rollers and the Women of Mass Destruction (home team). The two ladies to her left are her teammates, Robin Webb and Leandra Urrutia (they've already been featured in the 365 Memphians series).

365 Memphians- Brian Pena

350 / 365

Brian Pera is a filmmaker based in Memphis, Tenn. He worked on "Woman's Picture", which showed at the 2011 Indie Memphis Film Festival. His first feature film is called "The Way I See Things". For more info on his film work, check out Evelyn Avenue.

365 Memphians - Mary Tairua

Mary Thompson is a native Memphian who most recently worked as an internet marketing strategist at RocketFuel. She currently lives in Auckland, New Zealand.

365 Memphians - Sarah Stroupe

352 / 365

Sarah Stroupe is a biomedical engineering student at the University of Memphis and undergraduate researcher at UT Health Science Center. When she's not busy with school, she skates for Memphis Roller Derby's Women of Mass Destruction.

365 Memphians - Andrew Bartolotta

353 / 365

Andrew Bartolotta works as a graphic designer for Northwest Mississippi Community College and billing accountant for FedEx. He's also a freelance designer. Here's why he loves Memphis: "I love Memphis because growing up in the big city of Chicago, I can get the "big-city feel" but still be able to see familiar faces and be entertained by the multitude of activities Memphis offers. I think that Memphis, along side many other middle-sized cities, have the opportunity to be even better but they just need to listen to the upcoming generation living in and around the city."

365 Memphians - Howard Stovoll

354 / 365

In case you couldn't tell by all of his backstage passes, Howard Stovall is an event producer and booking agent based in Memphis. When he's not busy booking shows, he works with the Wings Cancer Foundation and Carnival Memphis and serves on the Beale St. Brass Note Committee. Here's why he loves Memphis: "The single word "Memphis" says so many good things to people around the world. When people ask me what it's like to live here, I say, "easy"."
