Favorite Place: FedExForum

FedExForum is one of my favorite places in Memphis, especially on game day.

FedExForum, Memphis, Tenn.

I've sat all over the arena, and while some seats have been better than others (I'm looking at you, borrowed tenth row tickets), I've never had a truly bad seat.

My love for FedExForum goes beyond the decent seating. At 18,000 seats, the Forum is big enough to stage huge events, but still small enough to seem intimate. It's the only place I've ever been where five guys in the nosebleed seats chanting "Put in Preston (Laird)!" in the last two minutes of a Tigers game can grow into an 18,000-strong chant that resulted in court time for the aforementioned Preston.

Really, the whole game experience at FedExForum is great - the staff is friendly, it's easy to get in and out, the crowds are manageable, the food is good (hello, barbecue nachos), and people seem genuinely happy to be there, no matter what the event. Plus, their roof has a great view.

I'll be at the FedExForum later this morning, when the University of Memphis Tigers take on small-but-mighty Belmont at 11 a.m. If you're headed to the game, know that Coach Pastner has called for a Blue-Out, so dress appropriately. If you're not, you can catch the game on ESPN as part of their 24 Hours of College Hoops.
