Empty Lot next to Earnestine and Hazel's

Photo taken at 7:21 a.m., hence the perfect natural light.

My love for this empty lot between Earnestine and Hazel's and Sache on South Main is in the details. I love the remnants of tile floor and the fading "post no bills" stencil. And I didn't notice the painted "Best" on the back wall until I looked at this picture.

It's one of the only empty lots that I hope stays empty. It would be the perfect place to screen outdoor movies, have small concerts or park a food truck.

Yes! Agree with everything! Always think that (movies/concerts) when I pass by there.

I know quite a few people who have taken downtown engagement pictures in that spot. Great images.

Love it, too! I remember kissing a boy there, once...romantic! maybe it would be a good setting for a wedding!

Yup, this is a go-to spot for wedding photographers. I've shot there myself several times, including last weekend.

Such great texture! Really great in early dawn or late dusk for photos.

Yes, I've photographed lots of people in this very spot...my only concern about weddings here is that the last time I photographed here, there was a tremendous amount of dog poop from people not picking up! But otherwise, there is a ton of character here!

Also a great spot for band photos. The Side Street Steppers and fave local photographer Good Golly Miss Molly hauled an anique couch out there for some awesome photos last month. They will be available soon at SideStreetSteppers.com, which will launch in about a month or so...
