365 Memphians - Jeff Hulett

As the public relations coordinator for the Church Health Center, Jeff Hulett is one of the guys who helps put on the annual Rock for Love festival. He's also a fixture on the local music scene, where he plays with Jeffery James and the Haul, Snowglobe and Glorie.

In other news:

- My office, the Memphis CVB, is looking for people to shoot videos for an online tourism campaign. We'll give you a free Flip camera and tickets to a Memphis attraction in exchange for you making a short video about what makes the place awesome. If you're interested, send a photo of yourself (and your family or posse) and the reason why you should be chosen to [email protected]. Bonus points if you've got charisma and charm to spare.

- If the Booksellers at Laurelwood (aka, the store formerly known as Davis-Kidd) reaches 2,000 Facebook fans by tomorrow night, all 2,000 of them will receive a 20 percent off coupon for any one item in the store.

- Yesterday's crazy afternoon storm knocked out power to about 50,000 people around Memphis. The good news is that MLGW crews (and a few crews from out of town) have been working around the clock to get power restored to the roughly 16,000 people still in the dark, and everything should be back to normal by Wednesday night.

- Love it or hate it, cop dramedy Memphis Beat returns for its second 10-episode season tonight.  The cast has promised that the second season is a little less ridiculous and a little more realistically Memphis. See for yourself at 8 p.m. on TNT.

The one thing I enjoyed about season one of Memphis Beat was recognizing a lot of places...in New Orleans.
