2. Patriotic Pops Concert, Second Presbyterian Church, June 29, 5:30 p.m., $6

World-renown soprano (and Memphian) Kallen Esperian will perform at Second Presbyterian's Patriotic Pops concert on June 29th. 3. Rock for 4th of July Weekend, Murphy's, July 1, $5

Murphy's is kicking off Fourth of July weekend with a cheap rock'n'roll show. Modern Convenience, the Glory Holes, Elevators and DJ Bobby Lee will play the Midtown club on the Friday before the 4th. Cover is $5, and the show is 21 and up.

4. Collierville Independence Day Celebration, H.W. Cox Park, July 2, 6 p.m., free

Collierville's annual Fourth of July party includes music from Party Planet (starting at 6 p.m.) and blues singer Ruby Wilson. There will also be fireworks, food, and a hospitality tent where food and beverages will be provided for veterans and their families. There's a free shuttle service between Collierville High School and the park.

5. Bartlett Fireworks Extravaganza, Flaherty Municipal Center, July 2, 6:30 p.m., free

The Bartlett Community Concert band will perform at the suburb's annual Fireworks Extravaganza. The event lasts until 10 p.m. and includes a car show, kids' activities, face painting, concessions and a fireworks display.

6. Memphis Redbirds vs. Oklahoma City Redhawks, AutoZone Park, July 3, 6:05 p.m., $8 - $20

The Rebirds know there's nothing more all-American than baseball, and they're throwing down for the 4th of July. There will be a special Independence Day buffet, a Silly Bandz giveaway and fireworks after the game.

7.  Firecracker 5K Run-Walk for St. Jude, The Racquet Club, July 3, 7 p.m.

Support St. Jude on July 4th weekend at the annual Firework 5K. The family-friendly race is open to runners and walkers of all skill levels. After the race, there will be dancing, a pool party and live music from the Jimmy Church Band.

8. Mud Island Fireworks Celebration, Mud Island River Park, July 3rd, 6 p.m., free

There are few better places to watch fireworks than from the middle of the river. Mud Island River Park is having a Fourth of July celebration with fireworks, food, rides and games and paddle boats. Blankets, picnics and lawn chairs are welcome, booze, grills and your personal fireworks arsenal are not.

9. Patriotic Art in the Afternoon, Children's Museum of Memphis, July 4th, 1 p.m., included in museum admission

Kids of all ages can head to the Children's Museum of Memphis to create patriotic arts and crafts to take home. The event starts at 1 p.m., and is included in the cost of museum admission (regularly $10 for all ages).

10. City of Germantown Fireworks Extravaganza, Municipal Park, July 4, 5 p.m., free

Bring a lawn chair and a blanket to Germantown's Municipal Park for an evening of fireworks, food, and family fun (including a moon bounce). The shindig starts at 5 p.m., with the fireworks display at 9:10.

If you've got a 4th of July event that you'd like to see on this list, email me and I'll add it.
