In other news:
- Another round of strong, tornado siren-inducing storms hit Memphis last night, leaving a bunch of branches in the roads and nearly 50,000 Memphians without power. If you're still without power, call MLGW at (901) 544-6500 or message them via Twitter.
- Good news for those of you who love food on wheels: the city council passed the ordinance that lifts restrictions on food trucks. I'm looking forward to mobile tacos in Memphis soon.
- Restaurant Iris is extending their (now-annual) photo contest until May 6th. All you have to do is take a photo of an iris in bloom and submit it to the restaurant's Facebook page. The winner will get a dinner for two at the restaurant and have their photo hung inside the restaurant.
- If you want to participate in Bike to Work Day (or, just take advantage of the city's new bike lanes), but aren't sure how to get started, don't miss the "This is How I Ride" forum at Mud Island River Park tonight at 5:30. The expert panel will answer your questions about biking basics, choosing a route and how to avoid helmet hair.
