I spoke at the Keep Tennessee Beautiful conference in Nashville today, and was pleased to have the lovely Scout Anglin as on hand to make sure the projector was behaving properly. She's a native Memphian and Keep Tennessee Beautiful's graduate assistant.

In other news:

- I'm extremely sad to report that my favorite Vietnamese restaurant, Vietnamese Bistro, caught on fire last night. I haven't seen the damage firsthand, but I'm hoping that it's not so bad that they can't re-open.

- Good news, beer drinkers. Ghost River Brewing has announced plans for a major expansion that includes the equipment needed to bottle beer. The expansion should be complete sometime this summer, with delicious locally-made beer hitting the shelves later this year.

- A few days ago, Michael Banks, one of the officers from MPD's South Main precinct lost everything in a devastating house fire. The Downtown Neighborhood Association is collecting items to help the family recover from the fire. Paul's got a list of everything they need.

Just drove past the Bistro a few hours ago...I'm afraid it's lost. The whole inside looks charred. I feel badly for the owners.
