I'm in New York all week, talking up Memphis to travel, food and music writers. Emily, who's been in some of the meetings with me, is the director of communications at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens.
In other news:
- Apparently, it's going to be 70 degrees in Memphis today. Lucky you. Go outside and enjoy it for me, ok?
- If you've got a closet full of purses you're not into anymore, consider taking them to Sugar Plum Consignments. They'll trade you cash for your gently used designer bags.
- There's going to be a second round of Ignite Memphis next Wednesday night. If you didn't make it out last time, go ahead and get tickets - the evening of lightning-fast Power Point presentations is way more fun than it sounds. This time, the topics include video games as art, lies, tap water, the brain drain, and something called "My own personal reindeer".
- The polls open today for the vote on school consolidation. If, like me, you're still super confused by the whole debate, you're not alone. The Commercial Appeal has a ton of info so you can study up before you head to the polls.
