Memphis Means Music (But You Knew That Already).

Memphis Means Music (But You Knew That Already).

Memphis music didn't end when Stax stopped making records and Sun started offering tours and Elvis' house become a museum. While the local music scene remains rooted in our incredible past, it's nowhere near dead.

It's so alive that the Memphis Music Foundation is throwing a week-long party to celebrate the ways that music binds the city together. It's Memphis Means Music Week, y'all (or M3 week, if you prefer).

We Love Memphis Music!

Between today and October 31st, there are going to be so many local music events that it's borderline ridiculous. It starts tonight with tours and an open house at Ardent Studios (at 4 p.m.) and ends next Saturday with a Lord T. and Eloise show at Minglewood Hall. The roster of musicians is incredibly diverse - everyone from the Memphis Symphony to the Summers (a band of teenage brothers) and Yung Kee.

Check out a full schedule of M3 Week events here.
