If there's a museum or show in Memphis you've been wanting to check out, next week would be a good time to do so.

In honor of National Tourism Week (May 7 - 14), some Memphis-area shops, restaurants, and attractions are offering discounts to visitors who check in on Foursquare.

For those of you not in the know, FourSquare is a location-based social network and game. It's simple - download the free FourSquare app, go somewhere, use the app to "check in". The more you check in, the more points you get. You can also pick up points for adding tips to venues, earn badges for checking in at certain places, and become the "mayor" of your favorite spots.

For the next week, checking in on FourSquare at the following local businesses could save you a bit of cash:

1. Goner Records is offering 15% off of any purchase when you check in.

2. A check in at the Stax Museum will get you $2 off admission.

3. Those who check in at the Rock'n'Soul Museum will receive a free lanyard calendar with purchase of museum admission while supplies last.

4. Check in at the Peabody Hotel and get a yummy duck cookie from the hotel's deli.

5. The National Ornamental Metal Museum will discount admission by $1 if you check in on FourSquare.

6. If you're planning to check out show by your favorite band at the Hi-Tone this week, they'll give you $1 off cover if you check in.

7. Possibly one of the best incentives to check in is Kooky Canuck's offer of a 32oz Bud Light for 3.49 when you check in.

8. Check in at world-famous Graceland and get a free 75 years of Elvis poster and sticker (while supplies last).

9. The Alex Haley House in Henning, Tenn. is giving $1 off admission to those who check in during Tourism Week.

10. Gallerinas and art lovers can get half-off admission to the Brooks Museum of Art by checking in.

11. Check in at the C.H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa and get 15% off at the gift shop.

12. Learn more about the fabric of Memphis by checking in at the Cotton Museum. They're giving $1 off of museum admission to FourSquare users.

13. If you check in at the Avenue Carriage Crossing, stop by the office (next to Soccer USA) for a free gift.

14. If you're the mayor of Carrabba's Italian Grill, you're in luck - you'll score a free dessert with the purchase of an entree.

15. Those venturing to the casinos in Tunica this week can score a free golf shirt by checking in at the Tunica Visitor's Center.

16. If you check in at the oldest home in Shelby County, Davies Manor Plantation, during the next week, you'll get $1 off admission.

17. Terry Woodard Photography is giving away free souvenir Memphis postcards to those who check in at the studio at 456 Tennessee St.

18. If you mention the tourism discount at the West Memphis Airport, you'll get .20 cents per gallon off of the cost of fuel.

19. This week is a good time to check out the Majestic Grille downtown. Each check in gets you one entry into a drawing for dinner for four at Jake's Chef Bar. Chef Patrick Reilly will create a personalized four course meal with wine parings for you and your guests (value up to $500).

20. Check in at the Crowne Plaza and get 10% off of your dinner.

21. Guests of the Hyatt Place Germantown who check in will get 10% off of their lodging and food.

22. Show the front desk staff at Incredible Pizza that you checked in and get a free go-kart or bumper car ride with the purchase of a pizza buffet.

23. If you check in at the Memphis Zoo this week, your name will be entered into a drawing to win a Family Four Pack (four general admission tickets to the Zoo).
