Here's 250,000 Reasons To Go Outside at the Dixon

Twenty Thousand Reasons To Go Outside at the Dixon

From now until mid-April, the gardens at the Dixon Gallery & Gardens are exploding with color. The 250,000 tulip bulbs that the horticulturists planted earlier this year are blooming.

In the garden, guests will find 100+ different varieties of tulips.

Most of the tulips are concentrated at the gardens towards the front of the Dixon's grounds. There are all different colors, sizes and shapes. I could not believe how beautiful and unique some of them looked.

The bulbs were planted so that they wouldn't all open at once, meaning that there will still be tulips blooming for a few weeks.

Venture towards the back right of the garden for the most beautiful walkway display of tulips. The photo possibilities are endless there.

The best part? Admission is free to the Dixon for all of 2024!

Build your perfect Memphis meal:

I love to eat so if I were to have only one meal left.. I’m going all out. I’d start with an app of Gumbo Fries from Blue City Cafe or Bayou Fries from Chef Tam, wings from Good Fortune or Central’s (honey gold and Jamaican Jerk), potato salad from Fat Larry’s, side of bbq spaghetti from Bar-B-Q Shop, and fried okra from Soul Fish. All paired with a Beale Street Brewing Space Age Sippin’.

Your most memorable Memphis moment:

College GameDay on Beale Street. That was an electric and perfect morning. I was still working in news then and was able to take it in up close and on the stage at some points. The fun and joy of everyone down there that morning is unbeatable.
