Interims Lunch is Nothing Short of Impressive
I decided to try something totally new for lunch today, so I grabbed my husband (it’s his day off) and went to Interim in East Memphis.
I’ve never tried Interim before, mostly because it’s one of those places that seems like it would be a Really Nice Restaurant. Sometimes, it’s easier for me to try Really Nice Restaurants at lunch – things are more casual, the food is less expensive, and you get to see how top local chefs handle low-pressure dining.
Interim’s lunch menu is broken into four small sections. There are appetizers ($6-$11), salads ($7 – $11), sandwiches ($11 – $15) and entrees ($12 – $17). Most of the items are lunchtime favorites – club sandwiches, a Cobb salad, a hamburger, penne pasta, etc.
I ordered the mac’n'cheese casserole from the appetizer section.
My bowl of mac’n'cheese came to the table in a cute little casserole dish, covered in bread crumbs. The breadcrumbs were a little dense – digging through them distracted a little bit from the deliciousness below. Under the breadcrumbs, there was warm, bake pasta covered in white cheese. The portion looked a little small, but it was plenty of food.
Even though their lunch is a bit more casual, Interim is still a very classy place. It would be perfect for a big lunch meeting, lunch date or going away party. The open kitchen looks into a dining room full of tables with white tablecloths, bud vases full of irises and rosemary, and black napkins on every table. It’s seriously impressive.

One of my favorite places in Memphis. Had dinner there on several occasions. Always had a great service and excellent food. Their wine list is pretty impressive too. This used be Wally Joe’s restaurant few years back.

Prices way too high for lunch.
