Memphis in May announced the line-up for this year’s Beale Street Music Festival today.

The Beale Street Music Festival kicks off Memphis in May and is the largest music event in Memphis every year. Last year, more than 40 percent of the attendees were from more than 200 miles away.

As usual, there are a lot of Memphis bands represented. Booker T. and the MGs, Al Kapone, Jerry Lee Lewis and Yo Gotti will all be performing during the three-day festival.

On Friday, catch Blues Traveler, the B-52s, the Goo Goo Dolls and Widespread Panic (the band that inspired the first “wooo!” of the season at this afternoon’s press conference).

Saturday’s shows include the Flaming Lips, Jerry Lee Lewis, Michael McDonald, Hall and Oates, the Drive By Truckers, and Dragon Balti (from this year’s honored country, Tunisia).

On Sunday, the festival winds down with Earth, Wind and Fire, Three Doors Down, Alison Kraus and Band of Horses.

Tickets are on sale now for the Festival, which runs from April 30 – May 2. A three-day pass is $65 until April 27th.

Closer to the festival, I’ll post a BSMF survival guide, including the #1 pro tip: even if you think you won’t need them, buy rain boots now.

Yep. Get your boots now. Don’t expect to stop by the store and grab some on the first day of music fest. All they will have is size 13.
